We just wrapped our shoot in Daytona, and I really need to tell someone how great Julia was! I think it’s too easy to forget what an integral part our vendors play in the success of a project. We always complain when things don’t go right, but we don’t say thank you when everything goes according to plan. But with Julia, it’s more than just ‘according to plan’ as she came through several times on our last project. Weather in the Northeast wrecked havoc on FedEx, so she scrambled monitors for us and made sure we had what we needed. We decided to add another camera to our shoot at the very last minute, and she was able to deliver. She was constantly available to answer questions and help with some technical issues, all after hours. That kind of service is exactly why I call Julia. She’s the reason I try to rent all of my gear from Bexel. I hope everyone realizes what an asset they have in Julia.

I just want to send you a quick note of thanks for all the work you have been doing for me lately- Especially on the weekends. Most of our shows are on the weekends and for the other rental companies, it seems to be a hit or miss situation as to when someone will answer the phone. I always know I can get a hold of you and that you will take care of me one way or another. That one phone call and I know that the gear will be sourced, secured and shipped- and that you will followup every step of the way.

It makes the decision to go with Bexel a no-brainer for sure.

These individuals went above and beyond the normal good service and provided me with “extraordinary service” and I feel that they should be recognized.

Mark Alexander, account executive/project manager, was incredible with his technical advice and his attention to detail. Mark spent time going over the equipment package and made sure every angle was covered. In addition, he assured my client that he would make himself available if problems arose. I have more than a decade of positive history with Mark and Bexel and he is always a pleasure to work with. His professionalism and knowledge is immeasurable.

Ron Fuller did an outstanding job of engineering the equipment and going a step further in reviewing it with me as well as preparing a schematic to follow. His efforts allowed us to complete our setup in time for rehearsal. Ron also helped us troubleshoot a few problems before leaving town on Friday.

David Paucar stepped in for Ron when we had technical difficulties during rehearsal. David took several of my calls and was patient and quickly resolved several technical problems we were having with the switcher and the line monitor.

Rod Allen from Audio Specialties was extremely helpful in assisting us with problems with the wireless PL system. His technical guidance and patience enabled us to overcome some strange frequency issues.

Jim Potter was also helpful in assisting me with technical issues related to the tape deck. His knowledge and patience was much appreciated.

This was the first time I worked with this particular client and we had a short window of time to do our setup. The Bexel team mentioned above came through for us and made it possible for us to have a good shoot. I have been a loyal customer of Bexel for almost twenty years. I started renting from Bexel not only because of price but because of quality individuals like Justin Paxton, John Badovinac and Matthew McCracken. Today, I continue to rent from Bexel because of the superior customer service.

I want to extend special thanks to all the above mentioned Bexel staff members for their efforts. It is difficult to find companies that have good customer service these days. That is not the case with Bexel. Your staff of media professionals has raised the bar to a very high level. I personally only use Bexel for my rental needs.

US Open Tennis
In August 2009, ESPN premiered its first year of coverage of the US Open Tennis tournament with a compete broadcast infrastructure designed and installed by Bexel’s BBS team. A complete workflow was designed and constructed in Flushing Meadows, which included over a dozen ingest and playout servers, multiple control rooms and dozens of editing and graphic stations.

Hells Kitchen
In December 2009, Bexel was challenged to provide a fully integrated production system comprising 56 remote controlled cameras, 30 miniature point-of-view cameras, 19 videotape recorders and a distribution system capable of providing over 9,000 connections for arguably one of the most complex and technically demanding reality TV shows. It was Bexel’s eighth season as facilities provider for Gordon Ramsey’s Hell’s Kitchen series.

2009 Presidential Inauguration
In January 2009, Bexel helped bring the election of Barack Obama to a worldwide audience by providing fiber-based press distribution, rental cameras and other ENG hardware, as well as wireless audio and communications systems, to a host of global broadcasters. The now famous images of President Obama walking the parade route were captured for CBS using six top-line HD cameras and lenses supplied by Bexel.
