Bexel / MTV/ Viacom Technical Showcase
Nov 19, 2008Manhattan Center Studios, New York, NY
Bexel Broadcast Services organized this showcase with the help of Ronnie Benck of MTV. The invitation to attend this showcase was extended to throughout the MTV ranks from SVP’s to production coordinators. These department heads know that Bexel is already providing the network with many flavors of equipment and service. The turnout for the event was strong, as there were entire MTV and Viacom departments that attended in groups. The goal was to have an interactive presentation for tech managers and technical responsible roles. Multiple technical discussions were focused on…
Two sessions were held at 9:30AM and 1:30PM. The format was a hands-on, face-to-face opportunity with the manufactures and Bexel. Each provided about a ten minute overview of the products on display, an overview of their capabilities and where they see the market going in the next year. After the presentations, the attendees were able to visit to each showcase table at their own pace. Some stayed at tables longer and asked specific application questions while others just wanted an overview. This was their opportunity to ask for instruction on menus, operation and setup of “looks”.
Bexel’s latest tool for the Viacom team “ the proprietary Bexel Camera Comparison Sheet, was distributed to the attendees. Many comments were made that this will be an invaluable tool for budgeting and decision making as related to acquisition packaging. Other attendee interest and focus was on the new Bexel Mini HD flypack systems, wireless video transmitters and rentals of ENG kits.
