Over a dozen broadcast professionals attended an exclusive, invitation only 'Fiber Expo' and training session hosted by Bexel BFS (Broadcast Fiber Solutions) and SVG and staged in the Bexel NY office in mid-town Manhattan.

"We had half the rental room set up with rows of chairs facing a plasma screen “ classroom style, states Scott Nardelli, Bexel BFS Director. "We opened with a rousing intro and then turned over to the vendors. Using the screen, vendor #1 gave their presentation and then the group was invited to “play” at one of three ‘pods’ (workstations) set up on tables in the other half of the room".

The three participating vendors were: EXFO (test and measurement equipment), Westover “ Visual inspection equipment and AFL Fujikura “ splicing equipment.

The event, the first of its kind, turned out better than expected and will serve as a template in planning and producing larger, more detailed multi-day events planned for 2008.
