All Rise: NADCP and Bexel and 20 Years of Drug Court
Thursday June 11, 2009Anaheim, CA
National figures, stars from the world of sports and entertainment, public health and justice professionals, and Drug Court graduates gathered this week in Anaheim, California to celebrate 20 years of Drug Court and call for a Drug Court to be put within reach of every American in need at the National Association of Drug Court Professionals (NADCP) 15th Annual Training Conference.
This week the National Association of Drug Court Professionals announced that they will be launching a new public campaign in July based on the familiar words that are heard at the start of every day in Court: all rise. “The words ‘all rise’ have a special meaning in Drug Court,” explained West Huddleston. “When one person rises out of drugs and crime, we all rise. When a Drug Court reunites a family, we all rise.” The All Rise campaign will be introduced to the public through a series of Public Service Announcements that will run on the TV Land networks. Among the stars of the campaign are Martin Sheen, John C. McGinley, Tom Arnold and Slash. “The All Rise project would not have been possible without the kind contribution of Bexel Broadcast Services who rose to the occasion and donated the equipment used during a five day shoot in April," said Huddleston.
