October 27-28 Kansas City, MO
Sports networks, mobile production truck companies, and major venue architects enthusiastically gathered in Kansas City Oct. 27-28 for the first annual SVG Venue Technology Summit. The goal? To collaborate on a stadium-design project that will make arenas and stadiums more broadcast-friendly with improved wiring, power infrastructure, and larger truck bays. Other topics include scoreboard technology and new tools for sports control rooms. After the 10:45-11:00AM coffee break, a special panel discussion took place, led by Bexel's renowned fiber expert, Scott Nardelli... "Get Your Fiber: Venue Cabling Tips and Techniques" was a discussion that showed how today's broadcasters require fiber connectivity to deliver HD signals - even though building that infrastructure adds to the bottom line of construction costs. How can those costs be minimized? If laying fiber is not a financial option, what are the alternatives? And what are some recommended best practices for building cable, fiber, and IP infrastructures in a venue?
