Six years ago, when we started the Tech Forum, the challenge was to understand what was possible. Today, we understand that almost anything is possible and that (as a technical community) we need to articulate a vision clearly in order that the product development community can make it real.

In the past, the manufacturers talked and we listened. Now, our community of engineers, technologists, producers, directors and other content creators have taken the technology, made it their own and grown it into something unique and very distinct. That said, are you ready for something new?

Tech Talk: The Continuing Conversation

Welcome to Tech Forum VII. This year you will find three distinct "living rooms" and each one will have a general focus and be hosted by a group of technology manufacturers. Over the two days, you will visit the three living Rooms and partake in each of the three conversations. There will be no formal agenda for the discussion, but there will be a format designed to spark discussion and interchange.

Yes, manufacturers will still be asked to bring their hardware and make short presentations, but the goal is to have an interactive discussion so that the questions answered are real questions, not abstract theoretical. What we hope for are a series of focused two-hour (or so) discussions and demonstrations that give everyone a chance to participate, learn, challenge, share their experience and look to the future.

In addition to the living room discussions, we will all gather a couple of times during the day to see some brand new companies with new technologies. As you recall from past sessions, the "Lightning Rounds" are designed to introduce you to young companies that are breaking new ground in the various technologies and workflows around broadcasting. So, please join us for a little relaxation, great food and drink, a fresh new approach to hands-on discussion and the most fascinating technical presentation yet at - Vitec Technology Forum VII - The Continuing Conversation.
