Annual Technology Meeting and Showcase
January 12-13, 2009
New Orleans, LA

For many years, Bexel Broadcast Services has been a support partner in working with The Alliance in the production of their annual meetings. The 2009 Alliance Expo in New Orleans was a success in spite of the recent changes that we have seen in the industry due to the current economic downturn. It was a great opportunity for Bexel to put faces to names and have dialogue with all of the Alliance members at the reception and the Expo on Tuesday January 13.

The event gave Bexel the opportunity to get feedback from the members as to 2009's projections. Some felt that projections in the media are still speculative and it may be business as usual going forward. They still expect to see the same amount of production...

Crosscreek is still on schedule for a new truck this year as is CSP Mobile - in this case, their first HD truck. Many others completed various upgrades of at least one truck last year. Corplex plan to add another HD truck in 2010.

Bexel's own Alan McDonald was able to get several rentals out of the event, even though that was not the purpose of Bexel's presence there.

Bexel ASG's Helen Carr spent quality time with Calrec associates Frank Pekoc and Claude Hill, meeting with a quite a few truck companies which resulted in putting WYES and Yes Productions in line for a Zeta Console and a Sigma Console - purchases slated for summer 2009.

Many vendors on the scene such as Calutech Mobile Solutions, found that a relationship with Bexel can prove to be a very cooperative experience, since Bexel does so much more than just rent broadcast equipment. So many individual services are offered (including the sale of used, refurbished equipment) making Bexel the quality choice of customers and vendors alike.
