Bexel Supports The CSVA Annual Conference

The CSVA (Collegiate Sports Video Association) is a group that promotes the role of the collegiate Video Coordinator position in the sports industry. Collectively, CSVA members share ideas, workflows, and experiences with one another helping to establish conformity to the profession at the collegiate level. This nationwide association continues to advance the significance and stature of the group. The association focuses on setting standards across the group, provide the exchange of information and innovations, establish quality techniques and raise the awareness toward the role that Video Coordinators play within the athletic environment.

The St. Louis convention brought together 100+ VC's from all conferences, ESPN production management staff, SVG "“ and Bexel Broadcast Services. The three-day event was composed of a mini-showcase of vendors and various technical panel discussions addressing current acquisition, editing and asset management topics. Bexel was a contributing sponsor to this year's convention.

ESPN's Al Fong spoke on a couple of the panels (along with Ken Kerschbaumer from SVG) and, with some help from Bexel's participating staff, discussed the uniformity of the asset management at this level of sports production. Ideas for new DDR applications were seen as possible future opportunities with this group, along with consulting with them on infrastructure equipment solutions.

While it was Bexel's first time to attend this event, the strength and solidarity of the VC's and the participation of every collegiate conference will bring Bexel back to CSVA's 2009 event in Jacksonville, Florida.
