SVG NYTV Showcase / IntelSat HD Transmission Forum

The 2008 Bexel Road Ramble rolled into New York City on Wednesday, May 14 with the Bexel team in full force to cover the SVG Showcase and HD Transmission forum at MSG. The goal of this showcase event was to provide exhibition to all of the metro-based broadcast contacts that were not able to attend NAB. There were 300+ attendees "“ an excellent turnout "“ and the Road Ramble vendors were on their own for the event "“ finding their own exhibition space on the floor. Bexel displayed on two tables (shared with Tim Okon and Charisse Morgan of tech partner Alliance Digital) of Bexel equipment, solutions, collateral, and tech partner demos.

The second event that Bexel supported as part of their Platinum Sponsorship was the IntelSat HD Transmission Forum for broadcast executives. This all day session covered many pertinent topics that every key leader in the broadcast industry is either having to manage, or to plan for in the near future. The working headline for the day "“ "1080p: Fantasy vs. Reality"

  • HD Backhaul: New Techniques, New Solutions
  • Domestic / International Transmission
  • 1080p: Production and Post Production
  • 1080p: Distribution Technologies

Bexel also supported the TekServe Final Cut Pro training for BURST/NABET/IATSE members to demonstrate and educate the union production contacts in the ways of Apple editing solutions. We supplied the A/V for this third event on a very busy second day of the ramble!

Jim Richardson, Tom Dickinson, and Joe Wire represented Bexel at the Forum and caught up with many key customers, while meeting a number of new contacts at this extraordinary executive level forum.
