More than 170 industry professionals attended the SVG/Bexel sponsored DSports Conference on Wednesday October 24 in New York City. The day-long event was focused squarely on broadband and mobile delivery of sports content, offering an in-depth overview of everything from how to properly produce an event for small-screen distribution to how to cut costs of distribution through peer-to-peer and user-generated content technology. The event featured more than 35 speakers and presenters, offering attendees an information-packed overview of the market.
"This was our first event foray into the 'new media space' and we were overwhelmed with the support from the community," says Ken Kerschbaumer, SVG editorial director. "Bringing cohesion to this market segment, which is moving ahead at a rapidly accelerating pace, was a challenge but our program lived up to the billing. We're already looking forward to DSports 2008."
"Bexel is very proud to be associated with the forward thinking leaders of Sports Video Group "“ we have participated and co-hosted a dozen events together in 2007 and know that there are many more to come" states Jim Richardson, Bexel's Director of Sales. He continues: "The DSports event was an important market space for us to enter"¦events like this keep Bexel on the leading edge of technology and production technique. Where there is vision "“ there is Bexel!"
The all-day conference was followed by a networking reception designed to allow attendees to build new relationships and say hello to old friends.
