An excerpt from Andrew McHaddad's April 2008 engineering notes"¦ Bob, this CNBC order began over four years ago with a large installation of RF gear sold by [former ASG Sales Director] John Kowalski. I built several [custom designed ASG] MASt Products for the installation along with 48 Lectrosonics UDR200 RF microphones systems, three intercom and 18 IFB transmitters. About three years ago they wanted to expand the system to add coverage of the exterior areas of the building. Helen Carr and I made several trips to the facility for meetings over the course of about 18 months. Fast forward...
They finally received funding and the PO was placed about 6 months ago. I built some new gear and traveled to complete the installation about one month ago. Things did not go well because the facility, which was not designed or installed by the current engineering staff, was in disarray with bad cables and other confusions. In addition, their wiring techs installed the equipment (last month) and miss-wired it. In a move of coast-to-coast efficiency, I have handed the project to Jim Dugan. He is more experienced with the RF requirements and, he is a local. I scheduled Jim to be at the CNBC facility on the 19-21 of April to complete the installation I began last month. He did a great job and since I was in NY for the Papal Visit event, I stayed over one day and joined Jim at CNBC to complete the commissioning. Here is a note of thanks from Geoff Keehn / NBC Universal"¦ "Jim"¦ Things went great!!! No dropouts or hits on anything! The A2 we had helping said this: "˜I was standing in the lobby with all the backup gear in my hands. Talent walked out, passed me, to the outside, and all I saw was this smile come over the faces of all involved.'Enough said. You are truly one of the "gentlemen" workers. It was my honor to watch, learn and work with you. Thanks for all the help!!" ...Geoff"Another [complicated RF installation] job well done, Bexel ASG!
